Charity & Schools Hardware Programme

Give useful business hardware another purpose.

Schools, registered charities and eligible community organisations can apply for laptops and other IT equipment that are no longer required in our rental fleet but remain suitable for productive use.

Who can apply?

The programme is intended for UK schools, academies, colleges, registered charities and genuine not-for-profit community organisations. We prioritise applications where equipment can create a clear educational, community or charitable benefit.

What equipment may be available?

Availability depends entirely on hardware returning from rental and passing our reuse checks. It may include business laptops, chargers, docks, monitors or related equipment. We cannot guarantee a make, model, cosmetic grade, specification, quantity or delivery date.

How returned equipment is prepared

Suitable equipment is securely sanitised before reuse, checked for functionality and prepared for its next user. Where returned equipment has become WEEE and is prepared for reuse, our process is designed around applicable BS EN 50614:2020 principles and Environment Agency requirements. We do not claim that donated hardware carries a BSI Kitemark unless expressly stated.

Important programme conditions

  • An application registers a need; it does not guarantee an allocation.
  • Hardware is allocated according to stock, suitability, impact and practical delivery or collection arrangements.
  • Recipient organisations are responsible for deciding whether donated equipment is suitable for their users and environment.
  • Any ongoing Microsoft 365 licences, managed IT support or specialist software are separate unless specifically agreed.
  • We may ask for evidence of charitable, educational or not-for-profit status before approving an allocation.
